Mojave: Installed Dynojet kit, what's the next mod?
#1
I finally got the time to complete the installation of the dynojet kit on my Mojo. I ended up removing all the plastic and the tank to gain good access to the carb. I think taking the extra time to remove the plastic and tank is the best way to do it since you are then assured of not dropping any debre into the engine or airbox boot.
The diaphram at the top of the carb didn't give me any trouble as far as seating it. I did strip out one of the phillips head float bowl screws and had to use a pair of needle nose vise grips to remove it. The reason it stripped was because I was trying to remove the float bowl while the plastic was still on and couldn't get a good enough angle to gain a good bite on the screw. It took me about an hour totle to remove and reinstall the plastic and tank. It is time well spent.
Performance wise? Wow! I was surprised that it made that much difference. No kidding. My Mojave now runs like it always should have. It revs more freely and easily and is better able to pull each gear under a load. I think it was well worth the money.
Now, what's next? A pipe? Supertrapp IDS-2? Does that make a noticeable difference?

IDS2 next. Be sure and get the race series instead of the quiet series. Rocky Mountain has the best price but they do NOT carry the race series. The supertrapp 4" race series is just as good, probably better, than the ids2 but is a little louder.

I highly recommend the IDS2 (w/the race core). A friend of mine has a bone stock 98 Mojave (w/20's on the rear) and we rode this weekend, I easily beat him thru all the gears-it is amazing how much stronger mine is. It's kinda cool to be able to see what a differnce my mods are actually making.
