We have A 97 Kawaski Mohave thats getting tough to upshift.
We replaced the clutch but it didn't help. How bad are shift dogs? to replace -can I leave the motor in the quad when replacing..

Thanks; Rob

Change the shift plate on your shift shaft and the shift star that the plate engages into when you lift your shifter up and down. This is located right under your clutch. The shift star will have an allen bolt in the middle of it. This is a common part that wears on Mojaves. All you have to do is remove your clutch case and the clutch itself and you will see everything right there.

Hi Mickey, this is chuck from SC. Hope you been doing well. You are so right about the shift star and plate, I have had that happen on two of my mojaves and I found that replacing those parts fixed the problem both times. 2000honda, do not go by how the parts look. You will probably not see any wear but replacing them will most likely fix it.

Hey Mickey check out the work we are doing to my son's mo. He is saving money for your 330 kit. He's almost got enough. Check out the a arms and swing arm we made. You can see pics at

Let me know what you think if you have time to respond. I know you are busy. I remember all the motors tore down in your shop.

God bless-keep serving Him
