Hey fellow saki riders, anyone know where or how to get or make an engine oil cooler for the Lakota? If pertaining to making one, how would you hook it up and prelube it?

I have bought and installed the FST cooler on a lakota for my friend. You get a small cooler that appears to be a very small automotive type transmission cooler and some hose, clamps and zip ties to mount it with. I made a custom mount out of aluminum plate to mount it just behind the air flow openings in the hood. You have to cut the oil line that runs between the case and the head and use the rubber hose to route the oil through the cooler. His lakota would make a knocking noise on hot days when it got fully warmed up after some harder riding. The noise was scarry. Have not heard the noise again since adding the cooler. You may could locate a similar cooler and buy everything you need a little cheaper but it probably wouldn't save you that much. I would save the trouble and buy the FST kit. Adding the cooler and, if your Lakota is fully broken in, running Mobil 1 15w50 will give it a long life.

Hey, thanks for the replies. My factory warranty runs out in May so after that I'll be doing several mods. This is really neat to be able to chat, confer, chew the fat, etc. with those of like bikes that have been there, done that...
