After market cams for 650 Prairie.....
#3
Jesse...Good question...I'm also interested to find out how much cams could help. I keep hearing how this motor is "detuned"...I want to tune it up! (Not that it needs it!)
Do you have any pictures of your maier hand gaurds?

I can't find where I read about the Penland cams. I read they really spank, a whole lot more than just a pipe, filter and jet kit.
Oldmanwheeler is a friend of mike penland, and knows a lot of stuff about him.
I would be happy to host a web page for Mike Penland's stuff for the 650. I would do it for free if it did not get too many hits (I guess I would rather do this for 650 products). It would be on my server which can't handle a too much traffic.
I could just stick it on my web page, atv.dnsalias.com. Or if he wanted to buy a domain, they are only $20 to $35. www.penland.com is already taken, but www.penlandperformance.com is available.

Hey Oldman Wheeler, can you ask him if he's interested.

As far as I know, you hafta call him. You get his phone in the back of a DirtWheels magazine. They say he is not really the computer type.
He is doing something like a project quad for dirt wheels, or helping oldman wheeler do it. I don't know if he is affiliated with kawasaki, but all I hear is that he has the best stuff.
Digital650. I use linux too, just not for the website. I really don't have the bandwidth you do, my server is just in my living room. It is just an amd 1000mhz piece of not very exciting PC. I'm not a web developer or my website would look a whole lot better and have cooler stuff in it.
Funny, I just noticed some pokes from www.netcraft.com on system. It even says I'm on roadrunner! Hah, talk about the moto4 of internet connections. I guess its better than dialup.

NYRoc:
He doesn't need computers, he over-clocks his quads?
I'm no web developer either hence my photos "page"
Do you guys use Linux or *BSD where you work? Need any help?
Netcraft is the semi-anonymous way to do it
Do you know a good all-around replacement for a Raptor's Rear tires? I rear-ended my friend, bent his rim and put a slice in one of his tires. Good a time as any to upgrade...

No linux or BSD is used where I used to work, just Solaris and Microshaft. I am on the bench right now, that's why I post so much in 4 different forums.
Yeah, your photo pages could use a little help. I have a link to download my script. It is perl. I was going to have it do more stuff, but I started working on other projects. Try it out. Cuss me if you don't like it, I don't care.
Back to the subjet at hand, somebody said that a properly piped and jetted quad with penland's cams would do mid 70's or so. The 650 puts out peak torque at a relatively low RPM. Changing valve timing and lift is the single thing most reponsible for the torque curve (if it's not too limited by flow at higher RPM's).
If you change peak torque RPM with a cam, the higher RPM power will increase. Maybe their cams can make more power without losing low RPM power too.
