Im am saving to buy a new quad this summer. I am not sure whether or not i should wait to buy the new kawy sport quad or just get a mojave. Will a mojave keep me satisfied for power. I have never owned a 4 stroke. How does the mojave match up to my current ride Blaster. IM not sure how much the new kawy sport is gunna be. I figure i will have 4500 by september.

I've never owned a Mojave. I used to own a Blaster and now I have a Tecate 4. The Blaster does have a bit less power but it's a 2 stroke and is a bit more peppy. The Mojave is unchanged since it came out in 87. It was the fastest 4stroke at the time but since then, those doldrum 4strokes have actually gotten quite respectable and more advanced...look at the cannondales. The Mojave is inexpensive for that reason....they're outdated. Since 2 strokes are scarcely available new anymore because of this government backed conspiracy against them, I'd wait for the new quad, though I've got a feeling it will fall short of the C-dales in performance because Kawasaki doesn't seem to give damn about sport or performance ATVs anymore. It's going to be Identical to the new Suzuki quadsport z400 due out soon but with green plastics and maybe some slight differences. Otherwise I's hunt down a used KXF Tecate 4 ($2500 to 3500 is a good price)...the 1988 model is better than the 1987. Trust me! Or maybe the other 250 racers by sukuki or honda available new til '92 and '89 respectively. These quads aren't a bad choice. They're very sought after, still kick the crap out of most new ATVs stock or with a few mods and hold their value. You won't lose a dime.

and another thing, looking at the mods on your Blaster, you'll kick the $hit out of a new KSF Mojave. It'll take some work on the 4stroke to find that power again...get a 250 2stroke.

or spend a few more bucks and get a cannondale. I've heard great things about them. they're state of the art right now and are really fast stock out of the crate.

Well it all depends on what you are looking for and what you expect. The stock Blaster is more peppy and faster than the Mojave so seeing as how you modified yours I don't think you will be happy with the Mojo. In terms of performance I'd skip the Mojave unless you are comparing it to the Warrior and 300EX. Since you have a Blaster than you would be better off buying an old 250R or Quadracer or getting a new 4 stroke sport quad.

The Mojave is a good machine if you are looking for a trail quad that is inexpensive, has reverse and is a lot of fun to ride. It is not a performance quad and shouldn't be compared to the 400cc-650cc class machines.
