What is the best way to tell if your are running rich or lean. Is it better to run little rich than lean?

 

Yes it is better to run rich But not to rich ( u don't want to be able to smell fuel) than lean because when you start running lean you can start melting things.

You can tell how it is running by the spark plugs. A lot of black soot it is on the richer side. Warn (I think) leaner side.
