It all depends on where, when and how I am riding. In winter time, riding in snow it seems like I hit reserve before 1.5 to 2 hours of hard riding. In summer I can go on two good rides without switching to reserve, or about 3 hours I guess. The Mojave as an abnormally large reserve which makes you think that you have less range than what is possible. Still, when I hit reserve I head for home, even though I know I can still ride for a good while longer.

Once I hit reserve I'm done!I forget exactly how much usable gas I have left, but it's only enough for 3-4 miles.I think it is about 8-12 oz.

The mojave does have a large reserve. .9 gallons on mine. When I run out and switch to reserve right away and gas up I can only put 1.3 gallons in. Never heard of problems with the tank till now.

Your sposed to have 1/2 gallon for reserve.I think they are not very careful when they make the tanks. They may mold wrong and kawi doesn't notice or care.I've talked to clarke and they are not going to make an aftermarket tank.........ever.I use 1.3 gallons and I'm on reserve.I can go farther if I tip the bike to the left to fill the carb, ride 1/4 mile untill it runs out and do it again.

I mount a 2 liter 7-up bottle full of gas between the front two bars, ziptied in place. My friends call it "the bomb" I even kept it full of gas for over a month and it didn't eat through the bottle.

Probly not the safest thing though.
