Mojave 2000
#1
I was thinking about purchasing a Mojave. I currently have a Honda Fourtrax 300, I was wondering if the Mojave 250, would be peppy enough for mountain riding and fitting through tight spots? How do they compare to the Yamaha Blaster and what price am I looking at for a good Mojave a 2000. I would appreicate any help...Happy ATVING..Thanks ,

IT IS A GOOD TRAIL BIKE, TURNS ON A DIME!!! THE MOTOR IS PRETTY STRONG FOR IT'S SIZE. IT'S STRONGER THAN THE 300EX AND ABOUT THE SAME AS THE BLASTER. THE BLASTER IS FASTER BECAUSE OF IT'S LIGHT WEIGHT. I WOULD GO WITH EITHER THE MOJAVE OR 300EX. THE DECIDING FACTOR WOULD BE YOUR SIZE. I'M 5'10" AND FIT FINE ON MY MOJAVE, BUT COMPARED TO MY BANSHEE IT'S PRETTY SMALL. TRY THEM BOTH BEFORE YOU BUY!!!!! I PAID $4000 FOR MY MOJAVE.

Hey kevdog,
Does your Mojave knock or ping? I have a 00 Mojave and when I went to pick it up at the dealer he had put 87 octane in. I have run about 2 tanks through it so far each with 93 octane. The knocking and pinging has steadly decreased but still there. Any ideas????

The mojave is an excellent trail bike. I had a '99 and if I didn't start racing MX I would still have it. It is a little tight for taller guys, I am 6'2, on the track, but it was fine on the trails. I prefer it over the blaster. The 300ex is a good racing machine. The mojave also goes great in snow. Expect to pay about $3999. Good luck.

The best thing going for the Mojave is it's engine. It is the only sport bike with a water cooled ,4 valves and this is a big and,DOUBLE OVER HEAD CAM. Double over head cams have better control over the opening and closing of valves which increases horse power. I do not know of any other quad that has DOHC.
