I have been reading a lot of these posts and see that you have modded your 650 quite a bit. I would like to replace my stock aircleaner with a K&N filter. Do I have to rejet my carbs when I replace the filter? I know it will be breathing WAY deeper with the K&N on there.

You may be ok, but it depends. A friend of mine put a k&n on and did not rejet.

You really need to modify the airbox if you go to the trouble to put a filter in. Uni vents in top are probably the easiest solution that is no detrimental.

A friend of mine put a K&N on his 650 without any other modifications.

It has caused his engine to run much leaner which has also caused it to run hotter. His fan is on almost all of the time. He has ordered a jet kit to fix the problem. Has anyone else had this happen?

Thanks for the responses guys. Carbs are not my thing so maybe I will just get a stock cleaner. You never know. I might get brave and go for it with a K&N powerkit!!
