Trail ride with my new 26" Mudruners
#1
As you regulars know, last week I upgraded my stock tires to 26" Mudrunners. Saturday, I went with a group of folks to Ocala National Forest (I live in Florida) and we went about 40 or so miles. It was mostly sandy trails and we found a few places of mud. I got stuck twice, but was the only rider to make it across a pretty bad mud hole(out of 5 quads who tried). I had to go around a stuck Polaris 700 with his stock tires(Goodyear Rawhide Grips) to get him pulled out. He pulled me out the other two times that I got stuck, but pulled me out from behind. He didnt go anywhere I did. And when he did try, he got stuck that one time. Thats when I drove around him and on through the hole, I turned around and he winched himself out attached to me. These tires are not a "get out of the mud free tire", I did get stuck twice. But I was the only one in the group that went through that one hole. The 700 got stuck, a big bear got stuck and two polaris 500 H.O.s got stuck in there also, trying to follow my path through the muck.
I got alot of compliments on how the Mudrunners were throwing the sand rooster tails on the trails and the mud when we were in the soup. Nobody wanted to ride behind me because they said I was throwing up too much sand when I ripped the throttle. One guy said that I was throwing a tire wide stream of sand thirty feet back when I hit a corner and gouged it. I dont know, I was looking forward too much. It was super dusty down there and at times, you couldnt see a bike length in front of you. Man, "whoop-d-whoops let you know how out of shape you are."
I just wanted to post my experience with my new tires so anyone who is thinking about getting them might get a little better idea of how satisfied already owners are.
I am very satisfied. They are like night and day compared to the stock Dunlops that come on the 650. By the way, my Dunlops are for sale. I rode them until they had 250 miles on them, then changed to the Mudrunners.
Good riding to all.
