I have aquestion for ya on the airbox?Th eother dayi went to check my airfilter if it was dirty, now I relize how restrictive it really is dirtwheels wasnt kidding bout that,no wonder its so damn hard to start and when ya stall it its apain to restart No air is getting to the motor. My question is what are u running in place of the box?I went to the cycle shop to see if any 1 made a trick aluminum box that flowed more.No such luck so now im either SOL or I have to get a clamp on fer it.

Sugarhead, I jave a uni 2 stage clamp-on filter on my mojave and it really works better than I thought. I have an outerwear on it and most of the time my filter stays clean even when the outerwear is filthy. You do have to be more careful when splashing in the big puddles but I have splashed in a couple good size ons and it never choked out.

If I remember rite the mojave has the same snorkle cap under the front hood of the quad. By removing this it will up flow a good bit. Another thing I did was, take a pencil and draw a line on your air box cover were the plastic kinda over laps the top of it. Then remove the cover and drill some 1/4" holes, enough to make it look perferated. This will inhance flow with still some water tight integraty.
I wanted to go with a clamp on as well, but due to heavy suggestions on here and my riding outings with my kids I find my self in to much water to many times.
I can say the outerwares with a clamp on is a good idea and is farely safe to do, but don't let those stock air boxxes fool you. Those squeeze type drains on the bottom leak as well. I found in deep water I sucked water up threw those drains.
As far as the jet kits go, I'm all for them. They come with complete instructions and excellent technical sapport. Any novice can do one of these kits and learn a graet deal from them.

i run a uni clamp on filter but i also have a suppertrapp pipe. if i were to clamp the filter right on the carb. the pipe would melt the filter.so i have this rubber elbow from uni that turns the filter down.now the filter hangs behind the motor,in front of the shock, and sits just above the swingarm pivot bolt. so if there is any water i can't ride.has any one else had this problem? let me know how i can fix this.what filter sould i use? and how can i stop it from melting? i have seen insulation tape and wrap and was thinking about wrapping the pipe with it,but when i put the filter in it presses against the pipe. i just dont trust that much heat that close to gas.HELP!!!!!!!PLEASE!!!!!!!!

I can't remember how the mojave pipe looked, just a slip on if I remember rite.
The lakota has a heat shield rite there by the air box to help this, but probably not enough for a foam filter.
Hooker header makes a fiberglass heat tape to put on thier headers that may work.
Keeping the coolest air possible going into the carb is very important for power concerns.
