My idea on how to increase fuel capacity on the P650>>>>
#1
Ok heres a little idea me and a friend came up with on how to increase fuel capacity on the Prairie 650. This mod would probally be one that would be very difficult for your normal Joe blow, but if an aftermarket company were do something like this I bet a lot of people would buy it. *Hint Hint to after market companies who read this*. I know if some company made this mod and it was resonably priced I would buy it for sure. Anywhere heres my idea.
Ok. When anyone gets a chance go and look under the seat at the storage compartment and then look under the back of the quad at the gas tank and look and see how close the storage comparment and gas tank are to each other. Now if some company were to make a after market gas tank that did away with the storage compartment but in its place had a bigger gas tank that was about the same dimensions as the storage compartment and combined the 2 as one "bigger" tank that would increase fuel capacity a lot. The exsisting storage area looks like it could hold about an extra gallon of fuel maybe even more if the tank were extended down where the drain thing is on the storage area. I bet if someone company were to do this mod of mine they could get an extra 2 gallons on the P650. Now im not sayin to fill the storage area with gas and have a hose going to the exsiting tank I'm talkin about one completely new tank thats fits in the are of the exsisting tank and storage area....
So what do you all think...its just an idea that i was thinkin about and wanted to share.... =)

It would definately be trick, but it does seem a little complicated. There are already aftermarket companies that make auxilary fuel can carriers.
Myself, I just took some old tubing, (I had pieces with bends already in them
), weldedv them together to fit a 2 Gallon gas jug that I already had and mounted it to my rear bumper. All it cost me was a couple hours, 8 bucks for a spray bomb of Tremclad and a bit of gas and wire for the welder. It looks pretty good and its out of the way.

The first suggestion is a good use of the extra space but you would also have to have a different fill hole for that reserve tank or another solution to the problem of the main tank fill hole being slightly lower than the storage box.

Lets see some photos, that sounds pretty cool.
