cold starting Tecate 4
#2
the best thing you can do is use the choke and no gas.but if your pilot is to lean that could make it hard starting when cold.try adjusting your air/fuel mixture screw to 1 1/2 turns out from bottom.and see if that helps.

A few more things to check;
1. How fresh is your fuel. The vapors we see coming from gas are there to help an engine start easier.
2. How is you cranking preasure? low preasure = hard start.
3. How hot is your spark. A failing stator (week spark) can also make it hard to start.
Mine always starts fist or second kick by using only the choke and no throttle. If it doesn't then I start checking the above things and repair as needed.
Good luck on fixing it.
