Just one E-clip per needle. When you get the needle back in and the other parts that go on top, put the spring in the slide and compress it. Then take your finger and try lightly pushing on the tip of the needle see if it wigles around or has some play in it. If thier is I usualy stick the other E-clip above the first one, this gives a positive hold on that needle.
But 99.9 percent of the time 1 E-clip with 2 washers above it is good. But keep in mind what I just said, it's easier than it looks to loose one of those washers.
