What's up:

I am going to be ordering a clamp on filter for my Mojave in a day or two, and I just wanted to know a little about it before I did. I am running a Whitebros exhaust right now but, I'm going to sell it so I can get a Supertrapp 4" racing series. When I get the filter I will also be getting a Dyno or K&N jet kit,
(is either of them better then the other)?

What I wanted to ask you guys, was what size fiter, and type of filter did you get (round, tapered, ect.) Also what power gains did you get and how much better is the throttle. Is it alot more responsive off the bottom and how much more top end do you think you got out of it? Also if anyone has part numbers from the place you bought could you let me know.

Thanks

Uni 2 part foam part #30703, or if you prefer K&N #30514 both from Dennis Kirk. These aren't the only ones that fit-just what I came up with. Don't forget the Outerwares and the filter maintenance items-cleaner and oil.
I think that it added power all around after I rejeted. The way I have my Mojave now is so much better than stock-I have a friend with a stock one to compare to.
I'm pretty sure the K&N and Dynojet are the same.
You don't really get more top end until you get rid of the rev limiter-but you do get there a whole lot faster. Hope this helped.

Thanks Mordr for the info. How big is the flange. What is the size I need a 2 1/8, or 2 1/2?

I know there has to be more than one person with a Mojave clamp filter. Come on guys. Just let me know how you like it and what type of setup you have.

I have a uni, same part number that mordr gave. I have a mooseouterwear and I like the setup alot. Its so much easier to work on the carb and the filter barely gets dirty with the outerwear. Usually I just clean the outerwear and every other time I clean and oil the filter. You may have to order some extra jets from dynojet though. I have a white bros pipe with a mild port job(clean-up) and the clamp on and I am running a #140 dynojet. The jet kit only come with a 122-134 in incriments of 4. The 134 was way to lean,my plug was almost white. Now I got it perfect. It gave an overall power increase. Nothing that will pull your arms out of the sockets but it is noticeable. Hope this helped.

The flange is 2 1/8", but the Uni 2 1/4" clamps down on it well. You only have about 4 1/2" of lenth for the filter to play with. You can see mine here
