I finished the install of an Armordillo skidplate last weekend, I need to put my plow mount back on. It took me about an hour to do the install and everything fits fine.

My goal was to get a skid plate that would not scoop up all the junk (leaves, etc) from the bottom of the mud holes. I'll let you guys know how it works out in a few weeks.

Here is a picture of it installed.

Wow, I like it.

I was, however, a little distracted by the tires in your photo.

Rock-- I like the plate, DO let us know how it works in the "real world".
NYROC-- Those were stock tires on Sgt. Rocks bike, right? What is distracting about'em??????

Those are the stock tires, my winter project is going to include tires and wheels. Just too much other stuff going on right now (House looks like a construction zone).

The skidplate was $119 to the door.

Rock--- Have you field tested the plate yet?
Take a look at my tire/wheel combo in NYROC's 650 site, pix #33 thru #36. He has a similar combo, different frts. I ride much the same terrain as you do, I think. This combo works well in most any situation.

I haven't had it in the mud since the install, but ran around in the woods for a bit. It doesn't pick up sticks, branchs, leaves, small animals, etc like the stock plates did. I'll be able to get it out on the rocks in the creek this weekend, but it'll be a few weeks before I can hit the mud run. I'll let you know how it goes on the rocks and maybe I'll have a couple of pictures for you guys.

I like the tire combo you guys have, how do you like your wheels? I'm workin' some ideas out on the intake tube thingy, but we'll see what is available by the winter. I have some ideas for the radiator cap access cover as well. My Twin Air is here, just haven't put it in yet. Jets and pipe are on the list as well. All good winter projects to get me out of the house and into the garage.

Sgt. Rock---IMO the "C" series are sweet. They are offset outboard 1", giving you a TOTAL of 2" wider track frt.AND rear! It really makes the bike more stable on the off-camber stuff! The wheel/tire combo got rid of a lot of that "P-650 push" in the high speed corners!
Also, the frt. caliper area stays A LOT cleaner when in the deep mud! Mine would pack with mud terribly. I love'em.
If you don't mind saying, how much was the Twin Air filter, where did you buy it?

I got it from Rocky Mountain ATV - www.rockymountainatv.com. I think it was around $21. I've been buying most of my stuff from them lately, but Dennis Kirk has them as well.

You don't happen to have a pic of your P650 with the wheels and tires on it do you?

Hello, was wondering how those "Armordillo" skid plates held up to the few years or smacking rocks and scraping up rough terrain.

Thinking about getting some for my Yamaha Raptor 660R. Do you recommend them?
