Roar-- I had the same pleasant experience with my 450-S. My dealer did a lot of stuff to that bike. Ball joints, wheel bearings, shock bushing, etc. THAT warranty more than paid for itself.
Terracer-- I would be interested in checking with my dealer about the "pre-paid" plan you describe. I had not heard of that one.
Dextreme--- I carry insurance AND ext. warranty, too. In my initial post, I wasn't saying that an ext. warranty was the ONLY type of "insurance" one might need. What I was trying to get accrossed is the fact that these P-650's are so full of electronics, that I don't want to have to pay(out of pocket) for things like $470.00 fuel pumps. I rather buy the warranty(or, if you will, insurance) to cover those high tech items down the road, after the normal warranty expires. I don't expect a dealer to warranty crash or comprehensive- type damage to my bike. By the way, that fuel pump costs more than the 3yr. ext. warranty! By the way, the higher your deductible----the LOWER your insurance premium will be. I carry a high deductible($500) and my cost of FULL coverage on 3 quads is $191.00 per year. VERY reasonable for my area.

Thanks for all of the good replies. Yes I already have insurance on our quads. Yesterday I bought a 4 year Kawasaki plan off of ebay for $399 vs the $715 that Kawa and my local dealer wanted for the same plan. I really like this quad, but doubt that I will keep it until this plan expires so it should really help with resale.

I believe my dealer wants close to $600. I saw them on ebay for about $370 in the "Buy it now" option. I think it would be a good idea too. I also pay $280/yr. for insurance for my 650. Same company that covers my house and two trucks.

Sorry to tell you you're wrong, but my notice from Kawasaki that I received in the mail recently is 2 yrs for $500, 3 yrs for $600 and 4 yrs for $700. My dealer says they can get a much better deal though and not to buy from the notice Kawasaki sends. Just my experience.

Thank you BadBamaPrairie, I knew I wasn't crazy. My dealer does not give good deals on anything. The only reason I bought from them is because they are about 1 mile from work. I will not make that mistake again.

The prices have been updated to $450 for 24 months, $550 for 36, and $650 for 48 months.. Kawasaki does not offer a 4 year program....

I got a 4 year plan with my prarie 400. Im kind of glad I did. Its allready had some charging issues (bad plug) and a dead battery or two (caused by the plug) , that were all covered. Thats all petty stuff that adds up to a big hole in my pocket, but the warranty takes care of it. My dealer is cool too, that helps a lot.
