Hello, here is the deal. I bought a 2002 kawa 650 this winter. I ride itaften, fore the frst months it ran fine, but now it hesitates at low RPM and back fires when i am slowing down. No mods on the bike yet, all stock, clean air-filter. I did read on a last post that there was a service bulletin on the choke cable and springs, talked about it to my dealer and he says he never heard about this. I need some kind of proof that this reacall does exist, cause it needs to be done and I don't want to pay for it, since it is under waranty.

By the way this forum is great, Helps alot.

Please help me guys.

Try going to <www.kawasakiparts.com> see if they offer a recall list, or service bulletin list.

It's not really a recall just a factory updated part, they have a new choke cable taht is longer and has for adjustment thy told me that 50% of the 650's are having trouble, call 949-770-0400 ext. 2467 he will know about this the old choke was part no.54017-1216, the updated no. is 54017-1222....... they should give you a log number like they did me and will tell you to go to the dealer and he will order the new cable and install it free courtesy of Kawasaki. at least they did for me, no problems with the bike now.
