Check your radiator--- I have to clean mine REGULARLY. Mine does get muddy, esp. on the lower 1/3. My fan seems to run a lot on a hot day 85 deg., or so. My fan has a pattern(after engine shutdown) of 2 min. "ON", then 2 min. "OFF", then one more "ON" cycle of 2 min., but it has never overheated. Just my personal observation out on the trail at rest stops, etc..

I let it run in the garage, it just had a leaky waterpump seal. It was only leaking when running. Like I said earlier it has nothing to do with heating up. It just was leaking.

Something has eaten all the palstic parts. I have replaced every one, since they all leaked. Redline claims it had nothing to do with water wetter. All I know is these plastic parts (seal, coolant filter, and water neck) all were destroyed within a file miles of each other. It was either water, coolant, or water wetter that attacked the plastic.

I just replaced the water pump seal a few minutes ago. The seal is an easy one to replace. Hopefully all my waterleaking out troubles are gone.

Hopefully when Northarkie gets his new water neck and/or o-ring for the water neck all his coolant leaking will be over.

nyroc--Thanx for the tip RE: fan mount brkt. spot weld. I'll look. I am afraid to ask, how far APART will I take the body to access the fan mount brkt.?????
REALLY wonder what the he!! is going on with your bike, that it is having all the plastic in the cooling system fail? Maybe the same company made BOTH, the black body plastic, and the cooling system parts! LOL

I took ell pastic off the front, cuz I needed to get to the water neck. However, you may get by taking the wheels off(for easier access) and one or two of the black covers inside the fender wells.

I still don't know who to blame. Nobody else has had this problem. Northy's problem is one of the parts I had a prob with, and his is bad for a different reason. It is not heat, not dirt. Maybe a dirty bomb was exploded near here, I don't know what caused it.

My fan runs ALOT! I've had it be too hot to sit on but never had the temp light come on. Soon after I got it, I smelled coolant burning off after it warmed up, but the dealer said there's no problem and I haven't had any problems since. One big thing to remember is with all of our plastic up front, radiator, usually a winch and plenty of mud, its very hard for the engine to get air cooled and very easy for the radiator to not work efficiently. I guess the best thing to do would be to swap out the plastic for some off of a QuadRacer 250....hmmm...I may try that when I get home. ;-)

I did not notice my temp light on at all, which now makes me wonder even more. My radiator wasnt too blocked either. No winch, just stock up front. There is some mud on the radiator though. I'll keep you all posted.

The winch would make no difference being totally seprate from the radiator area. In that the area is a plastic plate seperating the two

Mine & my neighbors 360 do the same thing. Not a d@m* thing wrong unless your temp light comes on.

Well, I found out the problem with my 650. It turns out that my ride at Sproul State forrest had some good deep mud. They said mud got into the carbs and was blocking them up and the radiator was completely caked in it. But that still leaves me to question why the light didnt come on. So it all turns out to be my fault. Guess next time I'll have to spend 6 hours cleaning it instead of only 3.

Interesting. When my 650 did what you described in the first post, I did not see the light either. My coolant strainer burst (right side, just under the carbs. Is this was what leaking on yours? I am half temped to just replaced this thing with a brass fitting (I carry with me a piece of hose, a brabed brass fitting, and a clamp - exactly what I would need if this coolant strainer burst again).

I rode around with my radiator clogged once on a dry trail, and the light kept coming on and the fan stayed on a long time, so I know it works. That happened when I did not take the time to clean the radiator very well.
