I've had mine to a registered 65mph on pavement. However the Grizz I was racing said he was registering 67 and we were side by side, I was inching up slightly on him.

However fast it goes, if you fell off, you'd be screwed for sure. HA!

68mph one time. 63mph is the max i got it up to this year. I got 589's now so I'm assuming it will now be slower. Ohh well, it takes forever to get up to top speed anyway and I don't ride in much open area.

I wonder if the varying top speeds have to do with altitude and the way the carbs are set. Does the factory set them all the same? Would it be up to the dealer or owner to make an adjustment for their part of the country?

It seems that not all 650's come out of the factory with the same amount of shimming on the driven clutch. That may have something to do with it too.

I had the 650 out this morning and got it up to 96km/h and it was on the bar on pavement. This is with the 27 inch tires and when it had the stock ones on it I got it up to 103km/h, but that was down hill.

Just like my friend above, I hit 103 km/h with stocke tires, and 95km/h with 27' mudbugs

Dead level ground, which is hard to find around here, 59mph. Slight downhill 1-2% grade, 64mph. Up the same grade, 57mph.

Bone stock and did 64 mph on a flat dirt grade road. Don't normally ride that fast...Just wanted to see how fast it would do. That was fast enough.....

I hit 68mph. I've noticed that top speed on a big 4-wheeler is very much affected by aerodynamics. If I move back on the seat and duck my head close to the handle bars, I'll run 68 everytime. All I have to do is sit up and it drops to 61 almost instantly. I don't think its a serial number thing or an altitude thing, just lay down on that thing like its a crotch rocket and you'll get those 61s to 68s. ;-)
