I went to my local kawi/suzuki dealer to get supplies. They had a new Suzuki sport quad that was being prepped, someone bought it.
Iv'e known the mechanic there forever since we both went to high skool together,he lets me into the shop to B.S.........anyways heres what I saw.
The bolts on the engine looked like they didn't have a wrench on them fully, they were rounded off.Especially the ones on the exhaust(the bike was in a crate still).
The chain skid plate is plastic!Pretty useless in my opinion.
The airfilter had no oil on it(foam). He oiled it and commented on how it has a poor filter setup, kinda like a banshee, could suck dirt into the engine where the filter meets the airbox. The airtube that brings the air into the airbox is smaller than the one on my Mojave,Bike must run much better with the lid removed.....too bad removing the lid could cause dirt to enter the engine since the lid helps hold the filter in.
I dont think 22' inch tires will fit.The foot guard is very close to the stock 20'tire now.I bring this up because I ride in the desert, lots of rocks and we need to be as high as possible.
Anyways theres what I saw.

yeah, ATV Sport did an objective test of the quad and pointed out those flaws. But they also said that these little annoying problems can be fixed for a lot less money than a quad w/ good attention to detail that's a dog or handles poorly. The quad overall has gotten great reviews in spite of the glitches.

Maybe I'm just being too picky.Iv'e been hearing so much about the new bike I was real dissapointed with the stripped bolts and the stupid airfilter setup.
Kinda like when your told that your blind date is a hottie, when she shows up she has coke bottle glasses, zits, facial hair and weighs 450 lbs.

One of the mag's said that useing robotic's and modern assembly line technology that the 400z is put together from start to finish in 81 seconds. Yeh I found it hard to beleive to but if that is true then that fast of a pace leaves room for mistakes, bolts not tight,etc.. but I like the 400 with what I've seen any 400 that can run with a 660 Rap has to have some respect,I don't see it beating a 660 but if it can stay within a quad length or two in a drag, and then out handle the 660 which the Mag's already say it does, then we have a new high perf. king.....
