tire balancing and pressure
#1
I just put titan 589 mt's on steel itp rims. I'm getting fairly severe wobble or shake in the handlebars when i exceed around thirty. Now should i invest in some type of cheap bubble balancer or have them spun at an auto center. Also front 26x9x12 rears 26x12x12 what would be a good air pressure for each in all around wheeling. thanks

5psi front, 4 psi rear.
You only want more pressure if you have any problems with logs or rocks pushing the sidewall in too much.
I use a bubble balancer on my front wheels. It seems to get rid of all the shakes. I tried it on the truck but it is just not good enough for that.
Many people also find with bigger tires that their handling gets worse and high speeds, like they wander or they get handlebar jerk. This is eliminated by setting the toe to 0. The further the toe is in or out, the more you get handlebar jerk, wandering or over correction. See this picture.

Scott, I had the exact same problem when I put 589s on my 650. With Nyroc's help, I eliminated all problems easily. I did the exact same things he did and it fixed it up perfectly.
1. Balance your tires. Do it yourself or get a tire shop to do it. When I went to get my front tires balanced, they couldn't do it cause one of the tires was so far out. The guys at Titan replaced my front tires for free as they said this was a manufacturers defect. Got new tires, balanced really easy.
2. Check your toe-in. Mine was at 3/4 inch toe-in when I first checked it. I set it at 1/16 inch toe-in and it handles awesome.
Once you do these two things, I guarantee your 650 will handle like new. Thanks for all the tips Nyroc.
