Kawasaki Recalling Rear Axles on P650?
#1
OK All here is some information I aquired today and this is very important so lets get it straight. Some axles left Kawasaki improperly heat treated, Kawasaki is recalling these units but you can check to see if your affected. I recieved this information via an anonymous source and I would like to inform all who own the P650.
OK here is how you check you unit
Remove the rubber cap on the LEFT side of the rear axle.
There should be a letter stamped there.
OK thes lots are OK according to my source and need not be replaced, however Kawasaki is sending out letters to affected owners and hopefully they will not miss anyone.
D, E, F, K, N, O, U, X, Y are supposed to be the GOOD AXLES however my source said this was listed in his bulleting from Kawasaki.
Call your dealer if there is any question or Kawasaki at (866) 802-9381 about this cause failure could result in a very nasty accident.

You can go here and find out as well. Just type in your vin and it will tell you about any recalls that effect your machine. Kawasakio info
Keep in mind that this recall is for the early production machines too. I thought that this recall was made quite some time ago?
