Float adjustment for a Mojave 250 with stock carb...
#1
Well, since I received a number of educated replies to my last post (solving my problem), I thought I'd post another question. Does anyone have the OEM service manual for the Mojave 250 and understand how and where to measure the 17mm to 19mm float height?
My problem is that when I tilt the carb (while holding it in my hand) gravity moves the float higher or lower. I am using a completely stock carburator that leaks fuel out of the overflow when I turn the quad off. My plan is to bend the float tab up or down to lower the height and shut off the fuel a bit earlier, unless anyone knows the correct way to measure it.......

You can check your hiegth while it's on the quad by putting a clear hose on the float bowl drain. Then hold it up beside the bowl and open the bowl drain. it should be just under the seem where the bowl meets the body.
When I adjust or check float hieghts I just flip the carb upside down and make sure the floats level and not angled down towards the body.
If the float hieght is about at the seem or a 1/4" below it you probably need a needle and seat kit.
