I was just wandering what the rest of the dealers around the country where recogmending on the 1st service(oil change/valve adj)on the 650. Mine told me 30hrs. or 100 miles, is this about right I'm getting close to a 100 miles on it. Thanks for any input!

 

Mine told me 10hrs or 100 miles. At a 100 miles i changed the oil and filter as well as the fluid in the front and back differentials..

 

I was told 10 hrs or 60 miles chjhange front rear and engine oil and check the recomended bolts check your manual it will tell you exactly what they want.

 

According to the manual, first valve adjustment is not due until 1 year under normal useage. To me this is a long time. I few friends that have quads that had to get it done with the first oil change.

 

Do all the fluid's at the first service. I don't think the valve's are seated at 60- 100 mile's, in fact i know they aren't,I had the valve's adjusted and the carb sync done at 750 mile's even then only the intake's on the rear cylinder were tight,wait until 500-800 mile's then do the valve's, any sooner you may be wasting time and money, the FIRST adjustment is the most important, after they seat, then you probably won't have to touch them but every 3000-4000 miles, they wan't them checked every year to be on the safe side.........
