As you all may know I am in the market for tires (I know the subject has been beating to death). So, I will keep it simple is the Gators smooth riding on the trail. I have to have a good mud tire, however I do mud alot after and/or before the trail.

I know one will tell me "you cannot have your cake and eat it too"...Right?

Chuckzie,
I noticed that you are in WV, we just rode the HM trails there. They are the best I have ever experienced.

Anyway, the kind of riding I found in WV never allowed me to wind my 650 out anyway. Speed wasnt much of an issue for many of the trails. I don't have a lot of personal experience with the gators, but If you like them, then go for it. People with them that I have talked to have been happy with them. ANYTHING will be better than the dunflops.

yes, the trails are great and lots of fun without much speed...40 max without being crazy or suicidal. Although ,I do trail to some stripjobs (coal mines) where I top my p650 out and/or drag race. My other half would prefer me not to do the before stated actions though ("I have had one to many Accidents"). So, I guess I could do without the top-speed performance and racing.

Besides if I need too, I will just get that Z-650 that I hope Kawa is smart enough to make!!!

I run Gators on mine Chuckzie. I have not experienced any problems with the tires however ensure you inflate them properly as the guy who sold me mine did not put enough air in mine and one pulled from the bead on the wheel one day when I was jumping. I have over 800 miles on my Gators and the seem to be wearing fine. As for trail riding just tell the guys behind you to look out because you can cover them with rocks unintentionally hehe. They pull great in the mud and seem to clean out great. If you want to see my Gators they are on my website just click on the link under my signature in this post and go to pics. Hope this helps inyour decision as there is also a friend of mines Quad on there who runs Blackwater X/T's on hios and he stated he sort of wished he would of went with gators or dirt devils.

Thanks Dustin your input helps. The more people I talk to about a product makes me feel more confident about buying it instead of another product. My issue with the Gators are that some people have told me they ride smooth on the trail, but with such a aggressive tread it hard to believe.(b/c I haven't got to ride any)

Also Dustin your not far form where I ride (War, hatfield, Gary, and just below Gelbert)

Also, has anyone tried 26/12-12 Dirt Devils on the Rear with 26/10-12 on the front?

the tire is designed to ride smooth the chevron design crosses the center is why they seem to not be affected by the aggressive tread

You can view my link also to see what Gators look like on a 650. Mine are 27X10 front and 27X10 rear mounted on stock rims. I got them from EastKY $299 delivered to my door.

They are aggressive and work very well in the mud. The trail ride is too is very good. I ride some concrete but mostly hardpack dirt. There is nothing uncomfortable at all about the tire. You need to wear goggles when riding gravel as the Gators do kick up little rocks. Good luck!

Ok I'm sold on the Gators...I began look for a place to buy, and noticed the weight..boy Gators are 40 to 50 more pounds a set. Did it effect yours wheelies, small jumping, and drag races? I can imagine it does, but at what degree.

I could put Sur Trak on the rear and Gators front.
