Mega cycle has some good cams. Need the stiffer springs with it. If I remember rite the cam and springs was around $225. I may be a bit off. I did a quote for the hole thing and it was some where around there.
Stop trying to drag race the EX's and try out riding them thats how you get respect. Drag racing quad to quad is the little ***** syndrome that poeple with thier almighty quads who can't ride worth a crap do to show off. bring them to the woods or a technical mx track and then see how they fare.

Do a search on majave cams in here. You will find the phone number to mega cycle in there. I don't have it with me at this time.
I did a quote for a feller a month or so ago using a wiesco 11.5:1 compression piston, cam, valve springs and retainer, port and flow work to the head. He was going to do all his own work and just send out the parts for machining. If I remember rite it was $750 for the hole sha-bang.
Port and flow work complaments the new cam very nicely, I would reccomend it. I also only reccomend the mid to top cam. Any engine builder will tell you top port work with top cam will let you run with the 400EX's. This is true in drag racing but it kills the bottom to mid so badly it realy isn't worth it. If you stick to mid/top porting and cam you will love it. The mojave is a awsome trail machine. It also carries it's wieght on the mx track as well. But trying to go top end every thing kinda turns it into something it isn't.
While racing of any sort what you do to take a say lesser machine and try to beat larger machines, it's best to try and attack the bigger machines weaknesses. Trying to turn your machine into a EX takes to many sacrafices and realy becomes a reliabillity problem.
After your internal engine mods a clamp on filter is a very good idea and removing the rev limiter is a must.
Replacing the cdi box with a klx 250 cdi box is a good way to improve your rev limiter. But enless you can find a used one in a junk yard it's costly. The best idea would be to send your cdi box to four stroke tech and let micky remove the rev limiter from it.
Sorry got a little ugly in my first post, just was a little moody
