I have just gotten my K&N power kit, and my new FMF megamax. After removeing the rear fender and seat i went to install the pipe......when i 1st go to slide the pipe on it and the headpipe are almost the same size.....so i didn't get it on.... Now to anyone who has installed a slip on pipe or megamax themselves will know what i'm talkin about. There is a little lead looking sleeve that wraps around the headpipe. i didn't want to mess with it tonight b/c i wasn't sure. But do i just remove this and slide it right on there and clamp it down? I here the fit and finish on the megamax is good. And so far it looks great but i want to make sure that it isn't going to leak and that pulling that sleave off won't hurt anything. Please somebody help me out. thank you for any replies!!!!!!!!

Please Somebody has to have installed any sort of slip on style exhaust!!!!! Even if it was a white bro. I just need some input on this situation......Preferably megamax owners but at this point i'll take anything. I'm hate to miss riding days and i'm looking forward to taking it to the track. Thanks again!!!!

try freezing the end of the new pipe and heating the head pipe to make one swell(freezing) and the other one shrink(heat) and they should slip right over each other ..Ive done this before with truck mufflers..works pretty slick...
