I have a 1996 Lakota that frequently makes a squeaking type noise. The noise comes from the suspension as it make the noise when rolled down a hill with the engine off. It seeems to make the most noise while riding technical trails at slow speed. I would appreciate any solutions for this problem.

THANKS.

LakotaBob -- The squeaking is most likely coming from from the pivot points on your front suspension components. Get yourself some quality spray lube (not WD-40). Something like Slick 50 or Mobile 1. Support the front of the quad so that the wheels are slightly off the ground. A jack stand in the center of the frame up front works good for me. Next, loosen the top shock bolt and remove the bolt. The suspension should relax until the tire contacts the floor (this is why to only lift the tires slightly off the floor earlier). Clean the top of the shock where it contacts the frame. It's probably dirty and or dusty. Once clean, lube it and the hold where the bolt passes through. Clean the bolt if also dirty and lube. Reassamble and do the other end of the shock. Now perform the same proceedure on the other side. Lower the quad back onto the floor and push the front of the quad down several times to check and work the lube in. Let me know if that solves the squeak. If not, I'll walk you through another technique.... Good luck! Remember to wipe off all excess lube after reassembly to reduce dirt attraction.
