Yesterday we went to the shop where we have the 2 KFX's coming. We saw some new Kawi crates in the back. The were closed so we got out of the truck to check the crates. No KFX's!!!!

Then Mark the Owner opens the back garage door and came out. He told us that the deliveries are contracted out and that ONE of them is on the truck! He said ONE of them should be in within a week! He said that he thinks Kawi is giving each dealer ONE before they start shipping out other ones to the dealers. So it looks like we will have to wait even longer for the 2nd one.

That kinda sucks as were planning on breaking in both of them together.

Oh well....at least we will have ONE....hopefuly next week...keeping fingures crossed.

Hi Bottomline,

Which dealership are you dealing with? I'm just curious. I'm planning to purchase a KFX in October at Troy City's Garage.

Also, would you know anything about the gearing, I know this is a little of the subject. Is the KFX geared high like the Raptor, or, is it geared low, or in between.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

IronBear

Iron Bear...We are dealing with Mark @ Dame's Motorsports located in Plattsburgh, NY. That is 2 hours and 30 minutes north of Troy City (if you are speaking of the one on Hoosic St. located in Troy NY).

I know Jack and Jim well at Troy City...Personally I can't stand either one of those guys. But...Troy City does have decent prices....oh...and they will kill you on a trade in too (like most dealers).

We got ours locked down for $5300 + tax (out the door) each.

I believe Troy City has Z400's for $5200 + tax (not for you I believe if you are from PA) + freight and rigging. So if I were you I'd do your homework...is it worth the trip?

Let me know how you make out man.

Ooooops....never mind that top part in last reply...I just copied it so I could address your questions (missed the gearing part anyways)...lol....forgot to delete it before I posted.

As far as the gearing...I hear different stories. Some say that the green machine will have different gearing than the Z400.....we'll see....I doubt it....I hear that downsizing the front sprocket by one tooth gives the Z's a lot more bark but kills a little top speed....we don't care about the top speed...so we will be dropping one tooth on our KFX's when we get them....there is a post about it here I think....somebody did it on a Z and was really happy with it.

Bottomline,

I'm from Connecticut, not Pennsylvania. I will get an "out the door" price before I make the trip to New York. And I don't have a trade in, I'm paying for it in cash.

Thanks for the input.

Green is okay, I like Yellow. Picked up my Z for $5400 with no prep or documentation fees + a nice new helmet to boot.
