Question...I rode a friends STOCK '00 Mojave the other day. I took it down a real narrow woods trail with his cousin following on an old Warrior. I hadn't been on a Mojave since the late 80's but everything felt good. So, of course I really put it to the test. I got the feel and let it fly.

Sparing all the whoopla about my skill, the quad perfomance, the trail and all the long drawn out details of the ride...Bottom Line, I waxed that Warrior.

Surely the Warrior is faster?? Or is it only faster on top? I'm just wondering which of these things allowed me to wax the Warrior.

Mojave king of that domain?
Mojave=2 or > than Warrior except top end?
Rider skillz?
WarriorBoy has NOBALLS?

I'd like to know. I was real impressed with the Mojave and I may consider buing one in a few months. But, two more friends have Warriors (they are not RUSTY at riding like me either) and I don't want to be tailing the pack.

I crenge at the thought of dust in my face!!

i have 2 Mojave's a 99 and a new 00 the 99 i put back completely stock and have the the 00 tricked out with supertrapp exhaust necessary jet changes to the carb and 18-11-10 tires on the back(holeshots) with the new holeshot mx's on the way and i wouldnt trade either one of them for any other machine out there... no complaints..!!! i have omf race rims all the way around on it, renthal bars lonestar parking brake block off with billet clutch perch and lever. for the price you cant beat the mojave.. the reason you waxed the warrior is because the mojave is shorter and wider than the warrior which makes turns on tight trails alot easier the warrior is a good machine but with the necessary mods to the mojave and still staying under the price of buying a new warrior you can wax every stock warrior out there... buy them quick when the new model year comes out.. they only make so many of them and within a few months of the new models coming out they sell out quick...

If you don't mind me asking, how much do you have in mods?

I've been waiting all year for the local dealer to call saying that he has a GREEN MACHINE in. Still no call!!

Duster,

You better get to the dealer and flat out tell him to go get you one! I (really the dealer) started looking for one in mid feburary and and it took almost a week just to track one down. In Mississippi there was one! That dealer wouldn't even give it to him. He ended up driving 4 hours to Nashville to pick one up. Of course, I made it alittle harder for him by specifically asking for one in the crate...Not a show room model that everybody has got on and floored in the parking lot. Just my 2 cents...

depakote,

I've been awaiting the call from the dealer since the 1st week of January. He has not been able to get one at all this far. He has only had one '00 in. It was ordered by a guy as soon as he caught wind of the green plastic last year.

I saw an older Mojave the other day. It looked like it had a 2'' swingarm extension. It also had low-pros and aluminum rims. It looked to be quite a bit wider too. But, I didn't catch much more than a glance and the guy was gooone!!

Do any of you have similar mods??

Hey Duster,

Not yet...Waiting for the IRS to return some of my money! Right now the bike is fully stock. I plan to add a Supertrapp IDS2 quiet core exhaust, K&N filter and carb rejet kit, and change the rear sprocket from a 43 to a 41 tooth. Later in the year is when I will add the works shocks all around, +2'' A arms, and some better tires. It should run pretty good after all that money! The biggest question I have for everybody is, "How much can you bore this thing without screwing it up!?" Those water jackets just scare me...

Good luck finding you one. I told my dealer towards the end of the week that if he didn't find one that he could go to the distribution in Georgia and sit in their parking lot!!! He finally found one in the crate as I had requested.
