Do you have to remove the gas tank in order to change the spark plug? or can i just do ot from the side?

no.YOu dont have to remove anything.You needthe factory plug socket and wrench.

No you do not have to remove the tank. I did, however, use a bench grinder and "round off" the corners so the thing would fit down in the head.I guess I know now why Kawasaki has Suzuki building quads for them. They couldn't even change the spark plug wrench after 16 years.

no, u CAN do it without removing anything, <u>BUT</u> you should because rocks easily get around that area and as soon as you take the plug out , they will fall into the motor which is a very serious problem, so you really should remove everything but u dont have to.

ya,don't let any dirt get into the cylinder.I use my 100 psi air hose to remove any dirt before I remove the plug.

yeah we used a high powered vacum to suck out all the rocks and crap that was in there.

i was just going to post on this topic. i cant get my plug out. the wrench that came in the tool kit dosnt fit over the plug before it bottoms out on the head cast. a thinwall socket wont fit either . any ideas??

I bet you have a rock stuck down there and it's keeping the plug wrench from going all the way down.

thats what i thought too,so we took the fenders and tank off to check and its clear of debris
