Here's the deal....I changed oil (and filter) in the Mojave last week, and the manual states the capacity is between 1.9 & 2.1 US quarts. I filled the case with 2 US quarts of oil and after the initial ride I noticed oil on my trailer. Upon futher investigation I noticed that the crankcase breather/air box had accumulated with oil and was dripping around the nipple where the overflow hose connects. After I removed the overflow hose the remainder of the oil drianed out of the box. My questions are as follows:

1) How much oil does the Mojave actually require?? (obviously the manual is incorrect).

2) Did I cause any damage to the quad by dumping the excess oil into the crankcase breather/air box??

What I do is , Change the oil and filter!! then put about 1.5 in!! then take it for a little drive! Like 5-10min!! then come back, let sit ,and then top up to the right mark on the glass!! It happened to mine once!!! and it dident hurt any thing!!So I think u are in the clear!

I also change the filter too.Theres a drain plug under the filter on the outside on the case that needs to be pulled too.My "mo" holds just under 2 qts.The excess oil in the airbox could have been caused by the excess oil .........or as in my case a oval cylinder that was letting blowby past the rings....lets hope for option #1.
