NGK-Vs-SplitFire spark plug on a Lakota Sport
#1
Has any one ever tried a SplitFire spark plug on there Lakota or Mojave,if so what was the difference? The SplitFire seems to be more expensive than the original NGK sparkplug.Which woulld you all recomend or trust? Ive never tried the SplitFire but, would like to give it a try, some say it gives more and better spark and burns better adding all in better performance?Other say that because of its better and bigger spark it burns out faster than normal ones(NGK)thaus resulting in changing spark plug more often.Any comments, ideas,or experiences with this spark plug(SplitFire)would be greatly appreciated, thanks .

years ago when I was going to school for automotive the teacher brought an ad in.It showed a Harley Davidson w the splitfire and ngk plugs.THe splitfire costed it like 5 hp on the dyno.It also said the Splitfire could casue misfires and elctrical problems due to too many short to grounds.Knows alot knows what he is talking bout cause knowsalot knowsalotlol stick w stock stock works. If the mfgs knew and wanted it on there bike for more power or reliabilty it would be on there.Beware of bandaids and bs in a bottle like slick 50.TO be FOrewarned is to be forearmed

I say splitfires are a scam..seems to me that only one side of the electrode can fire at a time as there is only one "burst " of spark at a time..unless you have a seperate way of firing the plug at the same time ..which would overheat the piston and PRESTO you have a meltdown..sorry Im reaching a bit ..at anypoint electricity takes the path of least resistance..not twice..but once on each "firing"

I've tried a few things with spark plugs on the lakota and the stock plug with a .024" to .025" gap performs the best. Yes I could tell the difference in just gap settings.
Never hierd anyone doing any better with split fires, But I'm a NGK man so.....no comment.
