I have seen this occurring when I was in the states.
There was a salt block in a persimmon grove and the deer (doesies) were fighting(peck order) over the persimmons that had fallen on and in and around the block.
I would say a block + persimmon + comfortable tree stand = Happy Hunter when the buck shows up for the doesies.
