OK, Prairie 650 owners, how hard is it to change the Choke cable or springs on the Praire. I'm a fair mechanic and have the mechanics manual for the atv. I know that right now my dealer is pretty busy and may just do it myself. How long did it take you? What all has to be removed?
Thanks

You have to remove plastic around carb area, five screws I believe, remove carbs covers, this encludes eight screws that hold air box to carb, shove some rags into carb openings . This keeps unwanted screws and dirt out. Remove air intake from front of air box,one clamp.Unhook fuel line, one breather line from crank, held on with spring clamp. One heat shield from exhaust, rad fluid level side to access carb boots
One clamp per boot to lift carbs up.Olso have to remove wire tie from choke lever end. i believe there is olso a clip on this end. When putting back together remember to remove rags from carb intake
This is a real pain so make sure you have a upgraded choke cable to replace old one with.

If my dealer can't get to it ASAP I may try doing it myself. I'm sure I can do it, it's just a matter of finding enough time.

Choke cable
I hate to bring this up again but, I am now seeing three different part numbers.
54017-1216 I'm told this is the old (original) one.
54017-1219 Some people say this is the corrected one.
54017-1222 Some people say this is the corrected one.

Which is it? I would assume the 1222 would be the newest version.
Does it have stronger springs or just a bigger boot?

Thanks
