Thanks moto. The more I think about it, however frustrating it may be, I'll probably end up going with the new z or kfx400.

The mocate sounds like a sport quad to me so if you keep that one and get a P650 then you will have both sport and utilty that is if you are keeping the mocate.

also...

I read some where on this forum that a P650 will stay with a raptor through 3 gear i don't know if that is bs or what but i draged a P650 with my mojave before the mods and he had no trouble beating me, I think I would blow him away on the trails though, but for the price of a P650 you can't go wrong.

on the other hand the KFX400 is one bad *** machine.

<< I think it would be fun to have a P650 but it would sit a lot in the garage because what I find the most joy in is not plowing snow but, floating over sand or blasting up a trail or clearing a jump. >>

The P650 does surprizingly well in the sand...way better than I thought it would. I think one of the main reasons is that the power is always where it needs to be and its quick accelleration from a dead stop gets it on top of the sand quickly.

I don't want too start a peeing match but my P650 rails in the sand dunes around here a few times a week , wheelies on command and takes jump suprisingly well at 60+ mph. I know its 600+ lbs but you wouldnt think so when your on the saddle

BTW = By The Way

and "bump" means to send the post back up at the top of the list so, people might respond

I think that the Prairie is an awesome machine and is by far the 'sportiest' of the 4x4 utilities. It is just not meant to be a sand dunner in stock configuration. I did read an article where Kawasaki engineers took the racks off, disabled and removed the front drive train and cut a bunch of of other stuff (80lbs worth in total) and then they raced it and it did quite well but, that sure seems to be a lot of trouble to re-purpose this machine when one could buy a cheaper KXF 400 and wax them solidly at the dunes.

I am NOT saying that you cannot have fun with a P650 on the sand. What I am saying is give the engineers some credit and buy a machine that was designed to do the activity you like to do.

No seed spitting matches required BTW

I cant really compare it too any big bore sport bikes as there are none around here that i have run accross yet unfortuately even as is, with the p650's current weight at 606lbs that gives it a power to weight ratio of 14.4 lbs / HP. No other 4x4 quad comes close. I agree with you on buy a machine that is designed for what you plan on doing. For me i would love to have a sport quad and a utility but sadly cannot afford both so the p650 was the perfect compromise

Funny asking what does btw mean. Sometimes it takea while to figure out internet jargon.
IMO-in my oppinion
IMHO- like IMO h for humble
LOL-laugh out loud
LMHO-laugh my head off
LMFHO- laugh my funny head off? actually it's more profane. Surely I don't have to be specific.
LMFAO laugh my F ankles off? Ankle? Aorta? Appendix? Anterior Cruciate Ligament? No, it probably refers to a three letter word usually accompanied with hole.

Proly - short for typing probably.
BFE - Butt F Egypt, F same word as is LMFAO, used for describing a long way away. BFE is usually a good place to go to ride.

Outer BFE - Further away than BFE. Outer BFE has not seen a lot of ATV use, and there aren't many trails there yet.
