Why is everone wanting this thing in a 4x4, the p650 is already there in the line up, take the racks off and puts on some mods, the p650 is already the fastest, sportiest 4X4 on the market. maybe next year they will bump it up to the 700 motor also.

When the 250ex came out it had a little more power than the recon. The following year they gave the recon the same power. It makes sense in a way, One engine assembly line in stead of two.

<< If you want my oppinion, I love it. However, the ragazines (read Hi-torque) will hate it for the simple fact that it does have an automatic tranny on it. That and the fact that it is a bit more portly than the DS650 Baja. >>

as someone else pointed out in another forum, the kfx weighs a whopping 1 pound more than the ds baja. also, a properly tuned cvt with a clutch kit is technically better than a manual because you are always at the peak of the powerband and you dont lose time shifting.

CVTs are awesome, just look at what volkswagen has done with em. Knock a ton of time off an autos 0-60 and keep the gas mileage of a manual. They said that when you put it in manual mode you add a whole second to the 0-60. Id take one any day. Imagine the rebuild cost differences. Dont get me wrong, I enjoy my 6 speed warrior, and I wont buy an automatic car, but a cvt is a different thing. Keep an engine at its peak power during acceleration... what could be better. Maybe it will be as easy as the old race one on my old gokart. I had it set where if you floored it the enigne would stay red lined and the lil 5 hp would scoot, heck it could even pop a wheelie and chirp the tires on concrete. Wish I had one on my warrior then right now i wouldnt be worried about the condition of my gear box and how much it would cost to make it like new. Instead i would buy a new belt and springs. Im assuming that big black box on the side is a cvt though, if its not and the sucker is an auto shifter or something, to heck with it. If it is a cvt it might be my best option for a new quad. I weigh around 245 or so at 6'3" or so, shouldnt have a problem throwing it around.

CVT's seem to work pretty well on SNOWMOBILES! There are some pretty damn quick snowmobiles, too!!!! DAMN QUICK!!!! Let's see how it does when it comes out, then we'll say whether or not the CVT on it kicks a$$, or not worth a ****. I have a feeling, though, this things is really gonna rear some heads.

There's something you don't hear everyday, "it should outperform the Polaris 400/500 and the Warrior". That's not really a flame, I just never heard those words formed into a sentence.
I think it's a great idea. I have been wanting to buy a big bore cruiser for the miles of endless Arizona trails. I also want to keep it stock, no performance add-ons, nada. I wanted a 2wd for ease of maintainence and I get a CVT and shaft drive to boot? This should fit the bill nicely. My wife will love this thing, hope it's fast enough for her. Thanks Kawasaki for giving us something we didn't know we needed. Now back to work on my ZXF-9 Ninja-4!!
