My mojave cant beat anything and i am sick of being last in the line.I already have a White Bros. E series and k&n air filter on it and i cant beat a 300ex. If i were to change the stock carb from a 34mm to a 38mm would that help? What other mods are good?

If you can't beat a 300EX, it might be time for a rebuild. How discs are you running in your pipe?

1. Where are you getting behind...low, mid, or top?
2. What are the riding conditions?
3. Is it an '87?

I think going away from the stock carb is a given. To what, I don't know, I'll ask around for you. You must change the "inhale" if you change the "exhale", if you want to get the most out of the pipe anyways.

if the 300ex was stock, i agree that you might need to check the condition of your engine. when was the last time you had your valves/timing adjusted? are you sure your jetting is correct?

GEt a pair of tires Razr's 20x10x9 on back and 21x7x10 on front. That should do it. You should of got a supertrapp pipe You get more horsepower out of it. Did you get new carb jets. Twist throttle helps to.

You said you did the pipe and air filter but did you change the main jet?

Yes i changed the jet. just ajusted the valves 2 nightes ago, it may be the timing i didn't ajust that. It ran better after i ajusted them and ran against the same 300ex and beat him by about a tire length. Now i am thinking about buying a 300ex just because i dont like the warriors weight. It is time for a new quad since i am still riding an 87 mojave.

if you are going to change bikes don't get something equivalent to what you already have. that's a waste of money. you will have buyer's remorse within a month!!!!! the 300ex is a great bike but it is and i repeat is slower than the mojave!!! if you want something four stroke and new check out the 400ex(if you don't need reverse) it's smaller and lighter than the warrior. i am waiting to see what comes out later this year myself. i wish yamaha and kawasaki would get off their butts and release those new quads!!! 'cause like your mojave my banshee is showing it's age. i will probably keep my mojave until it's on it's last leg. good luck on your new purchase.

I have a 1987 and 1990 Mojave and they run and look just as good if not better than new Mojaves and 300ex's. If you are going to put some money in to something either put the money into moding your Mojave or wait untill 2001 to see what new comes out from Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Honda.
