Tell me your "Rolled It" stories

This was the scariest thing thats ever happened to me on an ATV to date. I was at a gravel pit on Roscommon with the family. This was before I got serious with atving and wasnt very smart. My little sister was about 3/4 way up a 60 foot sand hill. I was on my old Honda 250sx, so I climbed up it to say hey. I was going to make my way back down in reverse, but that didnt happen. I nailed the throttle, and realized it was in 1st, not reverse. Before I knew it, the front went up and over and I landed on my head from about 8 feet up. Luckily it was in sand, but the rest of the fall down the hill wasnt pleasant. The atc hit me on the way down, but landed on all 3's at the bottom of the hill, still running! I just kinda bobbled around, and hopped back on. Needless to say I was scared crapless, but it taught me a few things.

i rolled my week old prairie 650 the other day. i was riding up a steep loose rock hill that had a grass track thatg cut left then back to the rock with a 45 deg turn. As I turned right my left tire slid off the edge and the quad rolled and ended upside down. I flew off but thank god it stopped rolling cause there was nothing but rock and downhill for another 50 feet. I would have said goodbye to my new Prairie.

The best I have ever seen was at forest hills in Louisiana. There was an old gravel pit (now LA dunes) and there were lakes that were being worked, so one week there would be a trail and next the top of the trail was there but it was a 60 foot drop off so you never went over one w/o looking.
Well we are sitting there one day b.sing and the dude on a big red 3 wheeler is smooking across the sand, well we start waving at him trying to get him to stop but this brain surgen must have thought we we digging his new ride so he speeds up. Lat sound we here is a big red hitting the rev limiter (I guess he thought if he reved it enough it would fly?) then a splash.
We all ran to the edge to see rocket man swimming unhurt, the big red floating upside down and on the back he had an ice chest and camping junk so there is like 4 rolls of T.P. floating among about 2million zip lock baggs filled w/ what ever the hell he had. At the time it was so funnie the dude almost drowned b/c we were laughing so hard we could not help him.
once we fished him and the bike out the we draind the oils and cylinder and the dam thing fired up first try.

best I did steep hill w/ drop off on other side so as I get to the top I stop so as not to crash, well I stopped a few inches short and stalled the EX. I got off but the hill was to steep to stand so there I go sliding down. I the here look at that mi poor bike looks like a horse rearing up, just sort of sitting on the rear tires and I and thinking please don't come over, Yeah right, there I was running down the hill w/ a flippinf 400EX hot on my hills. I was able to side step just in time.
Lets see new bars front fender sterring stem and sub frame later I was riding again.

<< So help me avoid a catastrophe or at least tell me what you did to
survive. >>
I was 3rd gear pinned on a triple and got crooked in mid air. I landed on my right two wheels and there was another 3rd gear pinned double right after it (which caused me to hit the double while still 2-wheeling). I felt it turn completely side ways in mid air (I was still pointed forward but the bottom of my quad was facing the crowd) so I remember trying to bail. The only thing that let me survive was my helmet. It's all cracked on the inside now. If I wasnt' wearing it, I wouldn't be sitting here typing this right now. I was unconscious for about 10 minutes, or so I was told. It felt like I just blinked and then there were a bunch of people all around me w/ the EMT guys shinin a light in my eyes. When i opened my eyes, I said, "Man, you guys sure did get here fast." and the EMT guy said, "Son, you've been unconscious for a while now." So I guess I'm mainly saying... the most important thing to wear to avoid injury or even death would be your safety gear. I ended up w/ a concusion, hair line fracture in my foot (from when I bailed), and a VERY scraped up back. I was showin the plumbers crack the rest of that week after that cause the scape was right above my *** on my lower back.
I know it's not exactly what you had in mind when you said "role it" stories, but I was told my quad was doing flips through the air, so that is somewhat of a role.

i'm backing up flippernj. that was quite the rollover. very lucky he was able to stop it from rolling down the rocks. that would have been very painful. luckily, i turned around when i noticed he wasnt behind me anymore. i went back down the trail and sure enough i found him on the top of the rock hill , with his quad on its side and him holding it back from rolling down the hill. i helped him roll it back upright and off we went, like it never happened. except of course for the bruise on his leg.AWESOME day all in all. thank god he didnt get hurt. till we meet again....

Well I have lots of rollin stories but my worst one happend a little more than 2 years ago. All of my wheelers were broken for some reason or another and my buddies wanted me to go riding with them so I went to the barn and got out the old Big Red. I ended up flying down a hil on a path trying to keep up (I was in high range 5th gear doing about 40) and I hit a hole or something with the front wheel. It rode on the front wheel for like 5 feet and then threw me off and it landed on my back and barrel rolled for about 15 feet. Everybody that was behind me told me that I'm pretty lucky I'm not in a wheelchair or dead. It fractured my back a couple places, and tore up my liver and spleen pretty bad. One helicoptor ride, a week in the ICU and the first month of school off and I was back in the saddle on the good old Wolverine. And the Big Red only got a bent back rack!
