I thinking of rigging up cruise control for winter riding so I don't need to stop to warm up my right hand, any ideas? I want one for slow speeds aswell. I local guy I seen on trail had rig up a twist throttle over to the left handle bar so he could alternate hands while crusing down a frozen lake.

Surely you have a thumb warmer? A hand warmer? Hand guards to keep the wind off?

I would get that stuff B4 I made a cruise control. I don't use anything but gloves. I generally don't ride very fast in the cold. I take extra pairs of gloves in case they get wet. I am considering hand guards to break the wind before I do anything else. I just haven't been that cold.

If you go yo a Army surplus stor at times you can get a cheap pair of Actrctic snow mobile gloves that are VERY warm.

Cruise Control in the snow??? Asking for the trip of a lifetime if the thing freezes is all I got to say,
However a thumbwarmer and guards is all that is needed in addition to the gloves you should be wearing anyhow, I wear foxes year round and the guard have never let me down and the thrumb warmer just enhances the fact of no wind like NYROC said.

I drive very long hours in the winter, and hand warmers and gloves that are rated at -80 and winshields are all standard equipment, however some days/nights I'm out in -45 deg cel and lower in a freezing rain storm then add the windchill. The guy that had this on his bike had it set up in a way if the darn thing frozen up he could pull a lever and it would disable the cruise control.

Thats -49 F before the winchill!!! Where in God's name are you riding, the south pole? I figure at temeratures like that the rubber of your tires would become brittle and your eyeballs would freeze solid.
