how do you split the rear pulley to change shims? my belt deflection is two inches. my belt width is 1.25 inches. is something wrong for it to have this much defelection and is my belt worn out.thanks in advance nyroc. i know you'll have the correct answers.

forget the shim question. ilooked it up nyroc's site. i looked at nyroc's picture of holding the drive pulley while torqueing it. i tried a similar way of holding the drive pulley while trying to torque it to 69 lbs. the piece of the pulley where you insert the socket broke on mine. i don't think i was able to get to 69 lbs but hopefully close enough. I also found a great tool in out tool room at work for compressing the spring.I put it in a vice and had the clip off in seconds. I work parttime at a Chevrolet dealership. it is a Kent-Moore tool.
