12:1 Mojave Engine Setup
#2
12:1 will ping. Even with high octane (most likely)
I would say yes... race gas required for safe running.
You wouldnt need an elec. start.
I have to kick start my Quadzilla. You can surely kick over a 250CC high comp.
4 stroke. (unless you weigh 80 lbs.)

megacycle sells a 11.5:1 comp piston set for the mojave. It's a wiesco piston so you can get it from wiesco too, $95 if I remember rite.
Megacycle also sells some nice cams. If you need heavier springs go to powroll.com they have a set for $55 in thier garage sale section.

The stock compression in a Mo is 11.0-1.I dont think that bumping it up to 11.5 or 12.0 is worth the effert.Once you get over 10.5 or so the power per psi doesn't have much of an effect.Going from 8.0 to 11.0 is noticeible,11.0 to 12.0 probly not except for the pinging.

thanks i was just asking for suggestions. i am not just changing the piston for the heckof it, my engine needs a top end rebuild, i was just looking for suggestions on what the best setup would be. so I will bore it probably .020-.040(depending on cylinder scoring), and run 11.5:1 comp piston.

The 11.5:1 is a good kit. Megacycle offers cams wich if you have the money get them, excellent mod. FST does a black box mod too. By now with your current bolt ons you know the rev limiter gets more and more in the way.
