I just rode my new 650 for the first time yesterday. I am still breaking it in, but would like some of you 650 owners to let me know what kind of noises are normal with this machine. Obviously, there is a fan that continues to run even after I have turned the machine off (for a few seconds). There is also a slight click coming from the front right when I turn now and then. It sounds normal, but I am not sure what it would be from. Please make a list of normal sounds that I might encounter so that I am not worried about the way my dealer assembled this thing. Thank you very much.

You might hear the belt chirp after 50-100 miles. Mine did after 70 and I had to adjust the belt deflection. Listen for it when you start to pull out thats when mine did it. Deflection spec is 22-28mm "I think" and mine measured 31mm. Im now at 24mm and it is quite.

The straight-cut differential gears(REAR) make a whining noise , kinda'like a semi truck turbo-charger. People behind you notice it more than you will. I am sure that you already are aware of the 2 whirring noises from the K-EBC system on shut-down.
ENJOY that noisey thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"clackety-clackety-clack" when going down a steep rough hill and using the KEBC.
