If I'm riding for a while and then stop on the trail(to wait for others) my 650 will sometimes stall out on me. It starts right back up with no trouble, but its a pain that it stalls out. Should I just turn up idle? And what way on it is up? One other thing; is it normal for my fan to run 2 minutes or so after turning it off? Thanks alot guys, this forum is great.

It is O.K. for the fan to run several minutes after stopping. It just needs to cool off a little. Most of the different makes and models will do that especially on the bigger bikes. As far as the stalling there have been some problems with the choke cable being too short on the 650 so if this is the case it may be choking itself out. hope this helps

gtchief--- the idle should be set at 1100 rpm HOT. Is it? Check the gas tank vents, if idle is in spec.
My 650 goes thru it's little fan cycle, too. On a hot day, when I shut it down, the fan will run @3 min., turn off for 2-3 min., then come back on for 2 min. I recognize it as normal now!
How are those new tires???????????

I love the tires TRX. They look great and perform great, I still have a pretty smooth ride too. How can I check what my idle speed is? Thanks

There was a service bulletin on the choke cable. The dealer should replace it for free. I don’t know if the new cable has new springs at the carbs, but you need to make sure those are replaced with the new longer springs. I know the new spring part numbers were posted on here somewhere. They might be on NYROC's site. The new springs fixed my stalling problem and returned some power that I didn’t even realize that I had lost. Good Luck

gtchief--- Know any mechanics? They should have a inductive tachometer that you could use.
Glad you like the tires. I'll try the 489's up frt next time I need tires.
