Will the new cdi box bearman is making increase HP? Does anyone know if the REV limitor will be taken out?

Does anyone know of clutch weight that will work, if we need to change weights to clutch for the extra power.

I have adjustable weights, but had to do a lot of work to get them to work.

I know Bearman could answer these, but I didn't want to bother him.

I believe 1bearman said he was going to raise the RPM limiter something like 1000 or so?

You probably wont need to change the weights or springs for this, since 1bearman said his timing curve ads a lot of torque to the bottom end, the MOST torque to the top end (over 50 or so) and there is also a small gain through the middle due to the overall timing increase. I think he said we will need to use premium fuel.

The bottom line is, I don't think it will make the biggest difference from 15 to 45 (high range), at least not enough for us to need to change springs.

Yeah, thats right, nobody bug 1Bearman until after he has gotten his CDI out.

Doggy pile on anybody that takes his time and delays the CDI.

The weights actually make it all go. The weights and the drive spring control engagement RPM, and upshift rate. They do not affect belt tension. The weights move out with centrifugal force (RPM), and the drive spring resists it (and brings it back when you slow down. Lighter weights need more rpm to move out. A Stiffer spring takes more force for the weights to push out, so they move out at a higher RPM.

The driven spring also affects upshift rate, but has nothing to do with engagement RPM. The driven spring is solely resposible for maintaining belt tension.

The guys at EPI are awesome. They have tested all that stuff until they know it all. You tell them what you want, and they tell you exactly what you need.

Please dont feel you are bothering me with questions, I always enjoy talking about quads. The rev limiter will be raised about 1000 r.p.m but unless you have a modified machine you will never even hit the stock rev limit. Power will be increased mostly above 5000 rpm but it is a very big difference. With the rev box, snorkel, K@N filter and jetting the difference in power is major.
