What to choose...'03 Vinson or '02 Praire

LEP7mm makes some good points. There are good things about the Vinson, which is why I was looking at it in the first place. It does turn easy, has plenty of power, nice speedo, aluminum wheels, etc. I wanted to like it and probably would have got one if it had been better built. I figured by the time I got it and put on a bumper to protect the radiatior and stick stoppers for the CV boots I'd be into the Vinson as much as the Prairie. It just didn't make sense to buy a Vinson. I didn't know you could get them with a manual now but I've seen a red one and it looks pretty good.
KISSOFDEATH,

LOL well,,,...... yeah.? I know thats getting bad. The Vinson does have a nice feature or two but its just not for me when other atvs make me feel more confident in them. I have been hearing polaris has been making progress in the reliability dept. But, the other day I was at my Kaw/Pol dealer and he said some of the 700 Sportsmen have been coming in for water pump failure. I guess one is as good as the other.
That 62mph top speed still amazes me.

I'm slipping to the dark side.....NNNNOOOOOOOOO. Kawi has a grip on me now, I can't resist.
Looks like I'm convinced to get the Kawi, now all I have to do is find the right deal and I'm set. I just missed a great deal in the auto trader too, the day I called it was sold. Damn, it was a good deal. Damn damn and more damn!!
I'll keep you all informed on my findings, but there is no real big rush to buy it, its almost winter now and I'm not leaving down south until December so I have a few months to find a good deal or I can wait till the spring time. That was a long sentence!

Our family owns both the prairie and the vinson. The 650 is awesome, but be prepared to replace a squeeky belt, the belt tensioner, and the plastic is really, really thin. Other than that it hauls a$$.
The vinson is a great machine also, not as fast as the 650, but in the woods you can only go so fast. Quality is great, I think the best in the 500 class, easy. We used it in a few atv pull competitions, it has never been beat by any other 500 out there, and we went against all of them more than a few times. Feels fairly sporty for an atv with racks and 4x4.
You would be happy with either machine.

bbertram...
I've said it before... (sorry to all those who have heard this) I took every ounce of courage in me too buy the P650.... I wanted the Grizz 660... but deep down I knew the P650 was a better machine for me. I just did'nt want to admit it. It sounds like your going through the same denial process that many of us went through. The plain truth is the P650 is an incredible machine....
