I agree. If they gave it a chain, a clutch, and lost about 100 lbs they couldn't keepm them in stock. But if it had a chain and a clutch, that would be a lot of that 100 lbs gone.

what are the advantages of a chain drive?
i though shaft was better no matter what (stronger, less maintnence)

They won't keep them in stock the way they are. Personally I like it, if you want a clutch, a chain and light weight you should just get a Z like I did.

Why would you want a chain????

I personally like the idea of a auto sport quad, the will be the quad to beat in woods racing. They have the 400 for MX so wouldn't it be logical that the 700 be intended for woods. Look at it from a woods rider's point of view and it looks perfect.

hey packard, chain drives give you more horsepower, with less weight. shaft drives are usually less maintenance, and are usually more protected, but they add weight.

Hey muddhound, those big bore sport quads like the ds650 and raptor are really meant for dunes not tight woods stuff.

Actually the DS is made for Dunes, Raptor is made for all, & the KFX700 is made for mostly woods. It depends on the chassis not the motor.
