NEED MORE POWER MOJAVE???
#1
Hi I have been listening to you mojave guys and I decided its time to add more money to my mojave!
I like the idea of doing somthing about the 8500 rev limeter what should I do to make it have more out of the gears, and I am looking for bottom end power because my cobra pipe is off a 87 and it is pretty powered out,
about the rev again is there anything that will reduce or get completly rid of the limeter ? cdi?
ps I am ordering a fourstroketech 330 kit is it worth it?

Email FST and ask for the black box mod.
Pipe , jet, filter and black box mod is what the first step should be.
The 330 kit is a very good mod. Although on the mojave it requires case boring so schedule it for some long down time.
Megacycle offers a 11.5:1 comp piston with cams, nice set up. But do the basics first and then think about the internals

what does the black box do? what all comes with the fst330kit?
another thing is the rocker arms do those effect the performance? which pipe do you think will sound good and bring out the mojaves performance? thanks

Black box controlls the timing curve and rev limiter. What they do is remove the rev limiter, lets the mojave rev out.
Pipe, supertrapp IDS2 is the one most of us agree works best with the mojave and lakota. E-series slip on works good to. But if you ever get a big bore you need a over size head pipe.
330Kits are basicly piston, sleeve, and head gasket. You have to re-sleeve the jug and bore it to the piston. Then you have to bore the cases to accept the larger sleeve. To bore the cases you must remove the crank and the innerds, bolt the cases back together and bore it out. I f you did all the work your self I'd say in the nieghbor hood of $800 to do the job. So get a quote from mickey before you do anything.
Rockers aren't a factor for performance upgrade on the mojave. Now the mojave has had a problem with pitting the rockers in some machines. If this ever becomes a problem megacycle refaces them, I forget how much for.
