no primer here I guess I need to get a part number and have one installed.

And the score is
8 canadian kawis with primer pumps
8 american kawis without primer pump
2 unknown

Idahoprairie , I wonder if the pump can be installed after, has anyone ever noticed if there is a place available for the pump on the rear carb of usa model? i wonder if the front carb has the setup space for the pump? It would be neat to have pumps for both carbs. maybe its a different casting #. I should get the lead out of my backside and get in there to see, i have to change my jets anyway.
anyone recall their setup, and more replys from canadians the americans have caught up, its now a tie.
I find this quite interesting, but im a part s guy by trade.( misspent youth)

Well here it is first hand ,seeing that you have been a little slack in filing your reports.
Crawled down to look at carbs on canadian kawi, for me a difficult task ,this being that my eyesight is not the greatest and looking through bifocals make it harder. Back carb has a casting ( floatbowl that is drilled and taped for two screws and a hole for pump) screws hold pump in place. Front casting has a protrusion , looks to small for pump anyway, no holes for pump or screws.

The moral of this story is, i believe U.S. carbs have castings like cdn front carb.
This means a conversion would mean buying complete casting and pump setup.
Oh by the way dont worry about my eyesight, it wont be getting any worse, i knew the cure .

Score is
canadian's 8 with pump
usa 9 without pump
unknown 2

Well it looks like the usa built quads are the losers, They have to live with choke problems.
Luckey canadian setups can get around choke problems. Oh thank you lord for giving us the pump , playboy mags, hamburgers, and bada$$ quads

Well i have just done the jetting trick for winter, put original jets back in. looked over the fuel bowl castings and yes they are compleatly different and no casting #'s. The job of insalling a pump means getting a new casting for usa models. While i was in there i removed choke cable .Will wait untill suitable working cable comes along before i hook them back up.

Dearly beloved
We gather here to lay Packardbell 15 's thread to rest due to a lack of interest. It was short lived, but not forgotten by those who discussed it. May it rest in peace.
